Hello. My name is Shea Winfrey, and I am a Resource Advocate contractor serving the Colorado Springs area. With a deep commitment to social justice and supporting individuals in recovery, I bring a unique blend of professional and lived experience to this role. I am a certified addiction counselor and a peer and family specialist with a strong foundation in mental health and addiction recovery.My journey began with my own challenges, including struggles with addiction and mental health, which have shaped my understanding of the barriers many face. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career in social services, allowing me to use my story to support others. Professionally, Ive worked in various roles, from detox therapist to client care aide, providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals in crisis.As a Resource Advocate contractor, I aim to connect clients with vital community resources. I firmly believe in the power of second chances and the importance of addressing systemic inequalities in our legal and social systems. My approach is rooted in empathy, problem-solving, and a commitment to dignity and respect for all.When Im not working, I enjoy playing guitar, reading, and exploring beautiful Colorado. I am excited to bring my skills and dedication to this role, helping individuals navigate their challenges and find stability and hope.
