Brinda Jacques has a bachelors degree in Human Services from Southeastern University and a masters degree in Social Work from University of Denver where she concentrated in mental health. She is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of Colorado. Additionally, Brinda currently attends University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Brindas experience is primarily in child welfare, but has also worked with those experiencing other barriers involving housing, employment, medical, education, mental health, domestic violence, and trauma. She has experience as a caseworker in La Plata County Department of Human Services, where she was involved with dependency and neglect and juvenile delinquency proceedings. Brinda completed a legal internship with the 6th Judicial District Attorneys Office in the summer of 2023 and has an understanding of criminal law and juvenile delinquency proceedings and the multiple systems that may impact individuals. Brindas deep understanding of child welfare practices and mental health needs can provide individuals experiencing involvement with multiple systems with strong advocacy. Brinda is SAFE home study certified and can assist in advocating for youth to return to their community in least restrictive placements with individuals within their support system. Brinda also has experience as a domestic violence advocate and can assist in identifying resources and support. Brinda has resided in southwest Colorado for many years. She has developed a network of working relationships and knowledge of resources available in her community. Due to limited resources in rural areas, Brinda has developed strong skills in thinking outside the box to best serve clients. Her knowledge and creativity make her a strong asset to the legal team.
