Carrie Cornish

My name is Carrie Cornish, and I hold a bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. I am trained in violence and trauma, psychopathology, mental health, and working with systems-involved populations. I bring both academic knowledge and direct experience to my work with justice-involved individuals. As a case manager, I have provided support to adults in both home and penal settings, conducting biopsychosocial and program-specific assessments. I rely on motivational interviewing to build rapport, foster autonomy, and support individuals in achieving their goals in a respectful, person-centered way. My internship as a probation officer deepened my understanding of the legal system and the systemic barriers faced by many individuals. I am deeply committed to trauma-informed, dignity-centered care that promotes self-determination and equitable access to resources. I am passionate about working with both juvenile and adult populations and am driven by a strong sense of justice and advocacy.
