Christopher Gehring

After graduating from Cornell Law School in 1996, clerking for a Montana Supreme Court Justice, and practicing at Holland & Hart, I served as a Deputy Public Defender in the Appellate Division. From 2002 to 2010, I was a professor at the University of Denver Law School. Since 2011, I have maintained a solo practice focused on criminal appeals and post-conviction petitions for the Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (ADC), as well as research and writing projects for both criminal and civil attorneys.

From 2010 to 2019, I was part of a post-conviction death penalty team, where I litigated a capital case and contributed to extensive appellate work. My practice emphasizes high-quality legal research, writing, and appellate advocacy, with a commitment to providing thorough, well-crafted arguments in pursuit of justice.
