Bio:Haley Schmidt received her BSW degree and a Certificate in LGBTQIA+ and Gender Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020. In 2021, she graduated from Colorado State Universitys Graduate School of Social Work with her MSW. Haley was an intern for the forensic social work program from 2020-2021 and became a full-time contractor with ADC following graduation. She is open to taking cases across the state and has an interest in serving rural counties as well.Prior to ADC, Haley has experience in numerous social work fieldsincluding criminal justice, aging, disability, and mental health. She has knowledge around Restorative Justice (RJ) practices, and she conducted RJ circles for young adults. Haley connected both clients and victims to appropriate community resources.Haley lives in Broomfield, Colorado. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, cooking, reading, and spending time on her family farm. She is passionate about bringing her social work perspective to criminal defense teams. She acknowledges that research and evidence-based practices can benefit individuals lives within her work and applies it to her mitigation.
