Bio:

I started my legal career as a public defender trial attorney in 1998, then opened by my solo practice in 2005. I specialize in homicide, COCCA, and complex litigation cases. Since 2018, I expanded my practice to civil rights and postconviction matters. As President of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, a priority is organizing CLEs and educational opportunities for our holistic defense teams. As a 5-year co-chair of the CCDB Judicial Committee, I have drafted dozens of judicial endorsement letters to the Governor. Additionally, I am actively involved in the defense bar committee addressing the recent events at CBI. I am highly organized, skilled in complex case analysis, and eagerly embrace new technologies. My strong interpersonal and written communication skills, coupled with my negotiation abilities, are always at the forefront of advocating for my clients’ best interests. A significant focus in my work is developing mitigation and leveraging expert resources to ensure the best representation for my clients, and I build robust, multidisciplinary defense teams. With over 25 years of experience as a criminal defense attorney and nearly 20 years as an ADC contractor, I have been unwavering in my commitment to indigent defense, the legal community, and my clients.
