I have a diverse background of over fourteen years as an indigent criminal defense attorney with unique experience in policy and government, and I am licensed in Colorado and California with strong legal writing, research, and trial strategy skills in all levels of felony and misdemeanor cases, and experience managing a law practice. I have a strong reputation for a commitment to the best interests of my clients. As a CLE coordinator in California, I have organized legal training. Through government policy experience, I developed comfort in analyzing proposed legislation, preparing legislative memos/talking points, and advising political leaders on important policy matters. Those roles also reinforced my experience working professionally with community stakeholders.My international experience shows a proven ability to work with diverse populations of professionals and in a variety of settings as a law clerk at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and a legal researcher to law professors. I am proficient in the French language and have experience using the language in various professional capacities. I am at ease in varied legal and policy situations, being able to adapt quickly to new environments, and have a reputation for personal integrity, compassion, creativity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
