1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Criminal Law Review with Jonathan Rosen
Jonathan Rosen – OADC Legal Resources and Technology Coordinator
Jonathan Rosen is the Coordinator of Legal Resources and Technology for OADC – according to Jonathan, that is a fancy way of saying he gets paid to help the OADC contractors do their jobs more effectively and efficiently. Jonathan started his career as a municipal court public defender in Denver. He started a private practice in 1999 that was divided between OADC appellate work, private criminal defense of all kinds and court appointed Denver municipal court appearances. In addition, he was the motions and law “geek in the closet” for Recht & Kornfeld for seven years. He folded his practice in 2012 to work full-time for the OADC in his current position.
Tristan Gorman – CCDB Policy Director
Tristan Gorman is the Policy Director for the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, where she lobbies bills concerning criminal law at the Colorado General Assembly. She routinely works with other stakeholders in the criminal legal system, including Office of the State Public Defender, Alternate Defense Counsel, Colorado Juvenile Defender Center, Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition, ACLU of Colorado, the Harm Reduction Action Center, and the Second Chance Center. She has worked directly on numerous bills, including death penalty repeal, the Enhance Law Enforcement Integrity Act, Felony Murder Reform, and the elimination of Juvenile Fees and Costs. In 2019, she served on the Interim Study Committee for Prison Population Management, and in 2021, she was appointed to the Governor's Council on Human Trafficking.
Tristan began her career as a Deputy State Public Defender in the Denver Trial Office and has practiced as Alternate Defense Counsel in Jeffco and Denver and as private counsel in metro Denver and along the front range. She practiced criminal defense in Colorado for twelve years and is now the sole proprietor of her own lobbying firm, Gorman Consulting.
